The want is a bit tricky to pull off First, you have to get the sim with the want to know that the sim they're married to is rich.
Sims will not automatically know if another sim is rich; they have to find out through conversation or by visiting their home. When the sim with the want knows that their spouse is rich, and that spouse dies of whatever cause; seeing their ghost will fulfill the want.

Check your male sim's portrait under her friends tab to see if it has the rich moniker.
If not; her being around the lot should trigger it. It's kinda finicky; I just make sure the sim I'm controlling with the want only marry someone if the rich moniker shows up. They let your sims learn a lot about the others.
