Clicking on the configure icon launches a configuration dialog where you can select the specific settings that you want to log. The Syslog Facility may be left as the factory default. Optionally, however, in the Syslog Settings section, from the Syslog Facility menu, select the Syslog Facility appropriate to your network:. From the Syslog Format menu list, select the Syslog format that you want:.
Default — Use the default SonicWall Syslog format. You must have WebTrends software installed on your system. ArcSight — Use the Arcsight Syslog format. Default or WebTrends , go to Step Enhanced Syslog , go to Step 6. ArcSight , go to Step Optional If you selected Enhanced Syslog , click the configure icon. I haven't configured anything special but when my phones request NTP from their default gateway, which is a Meraki MX, the MX responds as seen in the following capture.
I'd open a case with Cisco Meraki to ask for a switch to disable it or to configure. You can't. This option is used to specify the time server available to the client. This is also related to the Time zone offset option. I've found some founds that do, but that is about it. I'm really hoping this was just a joke question, otherwise Register or Sign in. Currently I have my DC control my time for all our computers and devices. So all my firewalls, routers and devices point to the DC.
I want to have my main firewall act as the NTP server by getting its time from time-a. THen each router's NTP settings need to point to the main firewall to get its time. Then all of the domain PC's need to get the time from the main firewall.
The routers and firewalls should be very easy, but what is the best way to have the computers point to the main firewall for time? I would think group policy but I have'nt seen a good GP area to set this.
Thanks for any tips and help. I would recommend not changing your computer workstations. Leave it as the default: they get the time from the DC's. What was the recommendation to change the setup? I kind of argue that but I dont want to fail the next audit. Hmm surprised an audit would flag that since everything was pointing at your DC. Wonder why they think your firewall would be a better choice.
I found this, and my reading of it indicates that people breaking in to systems like to mess with the time to make reading logs more difficult. Do they think it is harder to break in and change the time on a firewall compared to a DC?
Recommendation: needs to implement time synchronization within the environment. To select multiple option objects at the same time, hold the Ctrl key while selecting the option objects. The group displays in the Option Groups list.
Under Address Objects , click the Add button. Repeat as necessary to add more relay agents. For more information about configuring address objects, see Creating and Managing Address Objects. Select the desired Address Objects from the list on the left and click the right-arrow button to move them to the list on the right. When finished, click OK.
