For the first year, Oslo's Winter Park played host, then the event moved North to former Olympic location Hafjell in The X Games Oslo Skateboard Street competitions were held in the Skur 13 warehouse at Filipstad Harbor along the picturesque Aker Brygge and Tjuvholmen areas, marking the first time an international-level skateboarding competition was held in Norway. The Skateboard Street course was built as a permanent structure and left open to the public following X Games Oslo.
We've been back there a few times since, and it's still in pristine shape for competition use. Athletes and fans took in the national celebration and then competitions began. Anna Gasser enjoyed the warmth and sent it. For the first time in the event's more than 20 year history, X Games visited Sydney, Australia in , home to some of the world's best action sports athletes. Australian athletes hold medals, 45 of which are gold from X Games summer and winter events.
